The original design of the hydraulic generator originates back to the early 1990's and was first fitted to an Upright LX scissor lift for Nationwide Access, to power cladding packs, units were then installed on the Upright SL and Genie GS again for Nationwide. Now our range of products and installations extends far beyond Access Platforms to include units for boats, vehicles. construction machinery such as excavators, dumpers, tele-handlers and many other bespoke applications, with units ranging in output from 2 - 40 kVa. A 6kva hydraulic generator weighs approximately 40kgs and is about one tenth the size of the equivalent diesel set and can be mounted almost anywhere on your equipment or even supplied loose in a frame with quick release hydraulic fittings. It is safe, secure and extremely reliable and requires little or no maintenance and costs as much as 50% less then the equivalent diesel generator. Units are often designed to suit a specific installation or hydraulic circuit, one recent application was to install a 40kva unit onto a 7.5 tonne Iveco truck, the system supplied consisted of vehicle mounted power take off from the engine gear box, fixed displacement gear pump, hydraulic flow control system and a 40kVa hydraulic driven generator
The Platform Powerpack is supplied for UK use with an 110V CTE (centre tapped to earth) generator as standard, and for additional protection we supply RCBO protection at the base of the platform, this prevents the scissor or boom becoming live in the event of an earth fault in the cabling between the chassis and basket. If there is fault with the tools or equipment being used, the operator is protected. The generator can be mounted in any convenient location, fully weather proof and can be mounted vertically if required.
Units can be supplied in a range of outputs from 2 – 6 kVa, single or three phase, 50 and 60 Hz as well as a range of welder / generators. One of the key advantages of the HPS Platform Powerpack is that within this range the manifold and valves are common on all units. The units are virtually maintenance free and come with a two year warranty as standard on parts and labour.
